Susan arrived at Pacific Gardens for post acute care after undergoing spine surgery at the UCSF. Upon arrival, Susan was seen by physical and occupational therapist. During her initial assessment, Susan required assistance ranging from a minimum to maximum level depending on the task. Susan states, “I was adamant about not staying here at first because I’ve never been in this type of setting in my life. I hate to leave today; I got to know my roommate well and the nursing and therapy care were great!” With the support of family that lived locally and a friend from Oregon, Susan was able to reach her goals, including no longer being dependent on oxygen. Susan discharged from Pacific Gardens in May, and she will return to her home state of Oregon. Congratulations Susan on your successful journey home!

Charles arrived at Pacific Gardens for post acute care after a fall at home caused weakness and a need for reconditioning. Upon arrival Charles was seen by physical, and occupational therapist. During his initial assessment Charles required assistance ranging from a minimum-maximum level depending on the task. Charles states “Everyone at PG is nice. The food was very good. Physical therapy has all the equipment they need. Everyone did a good job helping me get home in a timely manner.” Charles was able to return home within 9 days of arriving at Pacific Gardens. Upon going home Interim home health is now able to continue his care, ensuring a safe transition home. Congratulations Charles on getting well so soon!

“Wanted to thank you and your extraordinary staff on the excellent and loving care our Mother received at your facility from January till her passing last November. I live in Oregon, my brother Mike lives in Louisiana. We were at a disadvantage to visit on a regular basis, however, your staff kept us informed of her condition at all times.

When we visited her, your staff was accommodating in giving immediate attention to any issues, repairs, questions, etc. we had. Our family was so fortunate to have Maddie on evening of her death. She gave us such comfort and peace. We will forever be grateful to her doctor who was always sensitive to the wishes of our family and myself, especially to Mike, my brother, on the day mother died. She gave Mike such peace and comfort and when she died, he knew all that could be done had been done. Lorraine H always went above and beyond for us. The ultimate gift she gave was when she took Ann’s “”Kitty”” home and washed it so it could be placed on her casket. Kitty was and is always with Ann. Ann loved the special attention she received having her nails and hair done. So many of your staff contributed to Ann’s quality of life while she was at your facility.

Pacific Gardens Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is highly recommended based on my husband’s and my experiences for the last 2 1/2 years and on going.

My husband had a severe auto accident and had two major surgeries and he was immobile. When my husband was discharged from the hospital, several facilities were recommended. I visited every one of them. My top priority at that time was to find a team of good physical therapists because my husband was completely immobile. The two major reasons, I have chosen Pacific Gardens were:

1. What a Happy Place!
When I stepped into the lobby, there was a live performance. The residents were clapping their hands, their eyes were sparkling, and some sang along with the musicians. Their spirits were high and happy. Certainly, music was/is wondrous!

2. Dedicated and Caring Physical Therapists
A representative of Admissions Services gave me a tour of the facility. When we arrived at the Rehab, I was very impressed by the therapists who were respectable and genuinely care for the residents as if they were one of their own loved ones.

As of this date, my first two impressions have far exceeded to my expectations and more. For the last 2 1/2 years, my husband has been provided good care by excellent health care by a team of outstanding Nursing Staff, Dietary, Maintenance, Environmental Services, creative and hard working Activities staff, the top notch physical therapists – the best in Fresno, and of course, staff of Administration. It takes a team of dedicated, hard working, and caring people to run Pacific Gardens.

I have visited my husband almost every day since his admission, except when I was sick at home. In the lobby I have met many family members who shared their experiences with me. Many of them brought their loved ones back to Pacific Gardens because they know their loved ones would be taken good care of. Some said to me that their parents and relatives were residents also.

My hats off to their excellence in providing outstanding care for my husband! I would certainly recommend Pacific Gardens to those who are looking for a place called home during a recover from acute surgeries or for a long term care.”
