The Rehab Clinic at Versailles Health Care Center employs 14 full-time local therapists to serve the community’s rehabilitation needs 7 days a week.

Our therapy team is made up of physical, occupational, speech, and pulmonary therapists with experience in treating a variety of neurological, orthopedic, and medical conditions, including pain management, contracture management, and urinary incontinence management. Each patient’s rehabilitation program is designed to address the specific needs of the individual in order to allow them to return to their maximum independence.

Homeward Bound
Homeward Bound is a short-term rehabilitation program, which focuses on addressing the specific needs of each patient. Treatment programs are individualized in order to allow our patients to reach their maximum potential. Because we believe that family support and education are vital aspects in providing excellence in care and assisting the patient to maximize functional ability and independence, family involvement in the rehabilitation process is encouraged.

The Homeward Bound program provides ongoing evaluation and treatment for those who want to increase their functional levels in:

  • ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) including feeding, toileting, dressing, mobility, transfers, urinary incontinence, and more.
  • Safe ambulating on various surfaces throughout the home and community.
  • Increasing strength and endurance to be able to manage independently or at a lower level of assistance.
  • Wound management, respiratory health, contracture management, stroke recovery, orthopedic-fracture recovery and much more.

Balance Rehab Therapy Program Components include: Vestibular assessment, posture stabilization, visual habituation, dynamic and static balance components.

Cardiac Recovery Program Components include: Personalized exercise plan, nutrition counseling, 24/7 medical surveillance, risk factor management, and comprehensive discharge planning.

Orthopedic and Fracture Recovery Program Components include: Pain management, skin/incision care, nutritional assessment, positioning, gait and transfer training, ambulation over various surfaces, restoration of activities of daily living and home evaluation to determine if special equipment is needed at the time of discharge.

Power Over Parkinson’s Specialty Program Components include: LSVT BIG and LOUD certified therapies, monthly support meetings, and weekly exercise group.

Pediatric Speech Services Program Components include: Individualized treatments for language disorders, articulation delays, Autism Spectrum Disorders, fluency, feeding/swallowing, and aural rehab.

Pulmonary Program Components include: Exercise training of the upper and lower body plus ventilatory muscle training, respiratory therapist supervision, energy conservation, psychological support, educational programs, and home evaluation to determine if special equipment is needed at the time of discharge.

Sports Medicine Program Components include: Personalized treatment plan and modalities for sports related acute and subacute injuries, chronic and repetitive injuries, injury prevention, return to play post-surgery, and performance improvement. Sportsmetrics camps offered twice yearly.

Stroke Recovery Program Components include: Safe swallowing, speech retraining, ambulation and gait training on multiple surfaces, transfers and mobility, use of adaptive equipment, and home evaluation to determine if special equipment is needed at time of discharge.

Wound Care Program Components include: Consultation with general surgeon and wound specialist, advanced wound care products, wound vac therapy, electrotherapy, ultrasound, short wave diathermy, sharp wound debridement, hydrotherapy, positioning techniques and devices, and nutritional assessment.

Accelerated Care Plus (ACP)

We utilize the same technology as professional sports teams to decrease pain and accelerate healing using equipment such as electrostimulation (E-stim), OmniCycle, diathermy, infra-red, and ultrasound. Litegait is a treadmill and support system to help patients stand while exercising. If you suffer from weak and painful joints, decreased balance or stability, poor walking, or decreased endurance, the Litegait can help.

VitalStim Therapy is therapeutic intervention for use in the treatment of swallowing disorders. It is a noninvasive method that reeducates the throat muscles to promote swallowing through the application of NMES (neuromuscular electrical stimulation).

Versailles Health Care Center provides both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care at the highest standards. We provide comprehensive skilled nursing care using state-of-the-art medical equipment and progressive treatment plans promoting quality care.

We offer a 39-bed Transitional Care Unit with 9 private suites that is separate from our long-term care residents. Our skilled services make up approximately 30% of our current population. We provide a variety of skilled nursing services including, but not limited to IV therapy, severe wound management, medication management, ostomy training and management, trach care, and more. Coupled with our rehab partners who provide physical, occupational and speech therapy, our team helps each resident recuperate to their highest functioning level. Most of our skilled residents come to us from an acute care hospital for ongoing attention for their specific illness for a short time, regain strength and return to their home. In the past year, we have discharged over 150 residents back home after successfully completing their specific rehab program.

Respite Care

Respite Care is the provision of short-term, temporary relief for those who are caring for family members or friends with medical needs. Versailles Health Care Center will care for your loved one if you need a break for vacation, a business trip, an illness or any other reason that you may need to be away for a short time. Please call our Admissions Director with any further questions regarding scheduling a respite admission.

What is needed for Respite Care?

  • A physician’s order for admission.
  • A current history and physical from the physician dated within 5 days of admission.
  • Respite stays can range from just a few days to as long as you need.
  • Residents can bring in their own labeled medications.

Who can come for Outpatient Therapy at the Versailles Health Care Center?
Anyone can come to outpatient therapy. We are able to assist patients of all ages with any medical condition.

What do I need to do in order to get Outpatient Therapy at the Versailles Health Care Center?
There are three easy steps to complete to get outpatient therapy.

1) Obtain a doctor’s order

2) Call (937) 526-5570 and speak with our business office regarding your insurance

3) Schedule your initial evaluation with our therapy department.

What type of Outpatient Therapy services does Versailles Health Care Center provide?

All services that are available to our inpatients are also available to outpatients such as treatments and programs for strokes, falls, peripheral neuropathy, contractures, wounds, respiratory, dementia, urinary incontinence, swallowing, and balance problems. Our outpatients can also benefit from our use of Wii, Wiifit, e-stim, ultrasound, VitalStim, omnicycle, and much more.

Does VHCC check my insurance and how do I pay for it?
VHCC has several contracts in place with various HMO’s, Worker’s Compensation, Medicaid, Medicare, and many more. Our business office will verify your insurance benefits before your initial outpatient therapy visit. If you have any co-pays or deductibles, you will be informed before treatment to arrange payment options.

What are the hours that outpatient therapy is available at VHCC?
We are available 7 days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. by appointment.

How many times a week do I need to come for outpatient therapy?
Treatments vary from 1 to 5 days per week depending on your needs and availability.

Will I have the same therapist for every visit?
The same therapist and assistant will follow your evaluation and therapy regimen throughout the course of your treatment.

Parkinson’s Program – Lee Silverman’s Voice Treatment Program (LSVT)

Parkinson’s Program

LSVT BIG and LOUD is a specialized therapy program for those with Parkinson’s Disease.

Versailles Health Care Center is proud to provide the LSVT program (Lee Silverman’s Voice Treatment) to our community.

LSVT BIG & LOUD programs are unique certified treatment protocols that are considered the “gold standard” in treating disorders for people with Parkinson’s Disease.

There are two parts of the program, BIG and LOUD.

LSVT BIG helps patients who:

  • Have difficulty with their steps
  • Decreased balance
  • Decreased trunk rotation
  • Other every day activities

LSVT LOUD helps patients who have:

  • Soft voice
  • Mumbled Speech
  • Monotone Speech
  • Hoarse voice

LSVT BIG & LOUD program is 4 sessions per week for 4 weeks. BIG sessions are approximately 60 minutes, LOUD 30-60 minutes.
