Important Update

As our nation, California and the local community cope with the coronavirus pandemic, we are providing an update on how it has impacted our facility and the steps we are taking to address this difficult situation.

Previously we shared that a staff member had tested positive for COVID-19.  We shared this information because we believe it is the right thing to do for our residents, their families, our staff and for public safety.  We are pleased to update that this staff member has fully recovered from the virus and no other staff members nor residents have tested positive for COVID-19 at this time.

Providing for the safety and well-being of our residents and staff is our paramount priority.  All residents are being actively monitored for any signs or symptoms of respiratory concerns, including having their temperatures checked daily.  All staff, essential medical personal and vendors are clinically screened prior to entering our facility, including getting their temperatures checked, and wearing surgical masks in performing their duties.  We also continue to prohibit visitors.

Please know that we have followed, and will continue to follow, the guidance set forth for privacy, patient care, employee safety and efforts to help stop the spread of COVID-19 as provided by the California Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

We also conduct a rigorous sanitation regimen that follows, and in some cases exceeds, all state and federal guidelines.  We have increased the daily volume of cleaning done in common, medical and residential areas.  All protective and medical equipment are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

We will continue to provide you with periodic updates regarding our efforts to combat COVID-19.  We want to thank you for your understanding and support.  It means a great deal to us.

Sincerely, Palo Alto Sub-Acute & Rehabilitation Center
