Karen Martin, Director, Human Resources and Benefits for Covenant Care recognized by the NHRA!

The National Human Resources Association (NHRA) Orange County is proud to announce this year’s HR Rising Star Academy members. This accomplished group of professionals was nominated by their Vice Presidents of Human Resources based on their achievement of specific criteria. They will participate in the year-long developmental program including being mentored, networking and learning from subject matter experts.

Karen Martin
Director, Human Resources and Benefits, Covenant Care

Karen Martin, as the Director, Human Resources and Benefits for Covenant Care, is responsible for developing the areas of employee benefits, incentive compensation, HRIS, as well as leading several cross functional project teams. Karen is an organizational leader in the development of human resources strategy, balancing business results with employee cost, retention and attraction.

Joining the company in 2005, Karen led strategic initiatives that have resulted in holding benefits costs below the expected budget for several years. She engages in the due diligence process of potential acquisitions and has recommended viable solutions to transition large groups of onboarding employees within projections. She has developed a branded wellness program to promote employee engagement and is leading a gradual change in culture towards healthier behaviors.

Karen has been recognized on three occasions by receiving the company Team Efficiency Award for her contributions and strategic leadership of technology implementations, which have impacted the business operations of the organization. Prior to joining Covenant Care, Karen held positions in various industries including retail, mortgage services and healthcare. During this time, she led the development of human resources strategy during heavy strides of business change.

Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and an Associate of Arts in Fashion Merchandising.
