Randy Tagle
Facility Rehab Director
Randy Tagle is the Facility Rehabilitation Director for Wagner Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation since August 2005. In 2006, Randy was recognized as the Rehab Director of the Year Award for Select Therapies. He has had a successful career path. A Graduate of the Occupational Therapy program from San Jose State University in 1997, Randy immediately built a solid clinical basis in multiple levels of care by working in Acute Rehabilitation, Out-patient Hand Therapy, and In-patient including skilled nursing. Just 5 years of growing into a highly skilled therapist, Randy was offered his first opportunity to be a Director for a Rehabilitation department and from this point forward he has continued to expand his management capabilities into growing and developing the largest Rehab Department and most skilled collection of 30 full time therapist exclusively at Wagner Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Besides work, Randy is a proud father of 2 boys and enjoys playing basketball, tennis, and golf on his leisure time.

PHYSICAL THERAPY
Our Physical Therapy Program is designed to address neurological, orthopedic
and rheumatologic conditions, as well as other injuries and illnesses. Our
Physical Therapy Team emphasizes balance, gait, transfer training, safety,
coordination and strengthening, and pain management in an effort to help patients/residents
achieve their highest levels of functional mobility. Our Physical Therapists
are also involved in wheelchair assessment and mobility as well as wound care
and prevention.
Services include:
- Gait transfer training
- Posture and Body Mechanics
- Therapeutic Exercise and Activity for Restoration of Strength, Endurance and Mobility
- Ambulation and Use of Assistive Devices
- Wound Care
- Electrical Stimulation, Ultrasound and Short-Wave Diathermy for:
- Pain Management
- Contracture Management
- Muscle Strengthening and Re-education

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Our Occupational Therapy Program focuses on improving our patients/residents'
skills in the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Therapists work with patients/residents
to maximize their potential for re-learning basic living skills such as eating,
dressing, bathing, toileting, and cooking. Our Therapists help our patients/residents
learn to cope with losses in ADL and physical functioning, through the use
of therapeutic exercise and activity.
Services include:
- Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Retraining
- Wheelchair Seating and Positioning to maximum functioning and mobility
- Functional Cognitive and Perceptual Retraining
- Contracture Management and Splint
- Euromedica Incontinence Program & Home Safety Assessment
- Safety Training
- Use of Adaptive Equipment
- Electrical Stimulation, Ultrasound and Short-Wave Diathermy for Pain Management, Contracture Management and Muscle Strengthening and Re-education.

SPEECH THERAPY
Our Speech Therapy Program assists patients/ residents in adapting and compensating
to overcome problems with speech, hearing, comprehension, expression or swallowing.
Speech Therapists can evaluate, plan and conduct treatment for speech deficits,
voice problems, hearing and word pronunciation, difficulties to help patients/residents
better express their needs and improve communication. Therapists work as a
team with our Dietary Department to address and improve feeding and swallowing
concerns.
Services include:
- Voice Therapy and Language Skills Assessments
- Development of Communication Devices
- Management of Dysphasia and Swallowing Problems
- Auditory and Visual Comprehension
- Oral Motor Training
- Dietary Consultation
