FAQs

We anticipate our families to have many questions and we do understand. Here are some of these often asked questions:

What insurances do you accept?
All 152 beds are Medicare certified. We also accept private and HMO insurances. Many long-term care policies will pay all or part of the coverage, and we accept private pay patients as well.

Do you have skilled nursing care?
We have registered nurses on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The charge nurses supervise a staff of certified nursing assistants (CNAs) who help patients with bathing, dressing and meals. In addition, the CNA staff takes vital signs: i.e. blood pressure, temperatures, and pulse and report these to the charge nurse. Family members may also call the charge nurse at any time for a status on the patient's medical condition.

What determines the amount of therapy a resident receives?
All therapies require a physician's order. In the case of an HMO, therapy must also have authorization for treatment from the HMO case manager. The amount of therapy a patient receives is dependent on how much progress the patient makes. The therapists document progress to keep a patient on caseload. Any questions may be directed to our facility rehabilitation director, director of nursing, or facility administrator.

How often does the doctor see the patient?
Physicians are required to see patients shortly after admission. However the charge nurse contacts the doctor at the time of admission for medication and treatment orders, dietary requirements, and other considerations or needs. Doctors are required to make a monthly visit for long-term care patients but will come more often if a patient is experiencing a change of condition in medical status.
