Kristy
Earick (Administrator)
I am a licensed nursing home administrator and have been in the healthcare field since 1995. I graduated from Piqua High School and then from Bowling Green State University in 1995. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Gerontology and Health Care Administration. I am originally from Piqua, OH. I am very proud of our facility and our staff. We have a loyal and committed staff that truly cares for our residents. Our facility has a state of the art therapy program. We provide an extensive therapy program, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis. We have the BEST therapists and programs in the entire area. I am proud to have sent 72 residents home in 2007. Our facility is complimented often on our cleanliness, the caring and dedicated staff, and our support of the Versailles community. We are a close knit community and we are a true example of our company's, Covenant Care, motto, "We are Family Serving Families." I have been at VHCC since October 2001 as the Administrator. In 2004, I was awarded CEO appointment by our home company, CCI. My husband Kevin and I have 2 daughters, Tabitha, 14, and Kelsey, 3, along with triplet sons, Ryan, Kaden, and Nolan, born in 2007.

Dr.
Donald Pohlman MD (Medical Director)
Dr. Donald Pohlman has been the Medical
Director at Versailles Health Care Center since 1998. Born in Coldwater,
Ohio, Dr. Pohlman has established his family practice in Greenville,
Ohio. His education consists of attending Marion Local High School,
the University of Dayton where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree
and Wright State University where he completed the Doctor of Medicine
program. He also completed post-graduate training at St. Elizabeth
Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio where he performed his family practice
residency from 1983-1986.
He has been certified under the National Board of Medical Examiners
since 1984 and the Diplomate of American Board of Family Practice
from 1986-2006. He is a licensed physician in the State of Ohio since
1986.
Dr. Pohlman is affiliated with Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio.
He has taken on additional responsibilities as the Chief of Staff
of Wayne Hospital in 1992, Medical Director of the Versailles Life
Squad, Medical Director of Darke County Hospice, and on the Board
of Trustees at Wayne Hospital from 1993-2002.

Dana
Spurlock (Director of Nursing)
Born and raised in Bellefontaine, Ohio, Dana came to Versailles Health
Care Center in 1992. She started as a Certified Nursing Assistant
while working towards her Associate Degree in Nursing at Lima Technical
College. Upon graduation, she started working as the second shift
RN Supervisor. After being in this position for two years, she took
on the challenge of being the first MDS Coordinator at the Versailles
Health Care Center. In 1997, Dana became the Director of Nursing at
our facility and has excelled in this position. She received a Bachelors
of Science in Nursing from Wright State
University in 2002 and dual Masters degrees in Business Administration/Health
Care Management and Nursing in 2005. She is also certified as a gerontological
nurse through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. "I love
the Versailles Health Care Center; the residents, the families, and
my co-workers", Dana says of her position. Long hours and a true
commitment to quality care are what Dana offers to make our facility
a leader in our industry. Dana says, "I could never imagine using
my nursing knowledge and skills in any other capacity."
Dana is the proud mother of two children, Paige and Peyton. She is
an active member of numerous professional associations at local, state
and national levels. She is a leader among Director's of Nursing within
Covenant Care, Inc., being named the "Director of Nursing of
the Year" 2001.

Deanna
Jones (Director of Admissions)
I am a life long resident of Darke County. A 1986 Ansonia High School
graduate, I was very active in National Honor Society, Varsity Athletics,
Yearbook Staff, and other scholastic organizations. I began my career
at Versailles Health Care Center in March 1991. I was employed as
a Certified Nursing Assistant. I later became Central Supply/Quality
Assurance Assistant until May 2001 when I was promoted to the Director
of Admissions and Marketing position. I love to work with the elderly
and promote VHCC along with the new programs it has to offer. I am
single with no children, but spoil my two nieces. I am involved in
the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Moose Lodge, and Ohio High School Volleyball
Officials Association. My hobbies include selling and collecting Longaberger,
watching sporting events, sewing, cross-stitching, and coaching girl’s basketball.
My number one priority at Versailles Health Care Center is to make
the families feel comfortable with their decision to have their loved
one live at our facility. I am here to make the transition from home,
hospital, or other facility an easy one. I am proud to let everyone
know that VHCC is "Family Serving Families".

Jackie
McEldowney (Director of Social Services)
I have been a member of the Versailles Health Care Center team since
1993. The facility, residents and staff have become an intricate part
of my life. As a social worker, my job allows me to touch peoples
lives in numerous ways. I enjoy spending time with the residents and
being able to talk to them to solve a problem or just be their friend.
I can assist the residents and their families in several aspects.
Some areas that I can assist families and residents include: admissions
to the facility and the adjustment process for families and friends,
financial assistance and information, discharge planning, and suggesting
referral agencies in the home once a resident comes to our facility
for rehab and returns home.
I am a graduate of Versailles High School and also a graduate of Bowling
Green State University in Ohio. My husband Chris and I are the parents
of Kinsey, Astasia, Kenia and Kennedy. I enjoy spending time with
my family and friends. My motto is "People come first".

Therese
Pohlman (Director Business Services)
I am proud to say I have been a member of the Versailles Health Care
Center team since October 1984. I am the Business Office Manager and
in charge of the daily operation of Accts Receivable and oversee the
Payroll and Accounts Payable Depts. In the past 23 years I have seen
this place grow from a 50 bed to a 112 bed facility.Many people have
passed through these doors and I have had the pleasure to meet many
wonderful residents, families and co-workers.
I am blessed with a wonderful husband,
Bill and three children, Angie, Keith and Amanda. Originally from
Mercer County, I have found my home in the Versailles community and
find it a great place to raise my children. I am very active in the
community with church and school activities and our local theater
group.

Hartzell (Director of Activities)
Hi, my name is Tamala K. Hartzell. I am the Activity Director at Versailles
Health Care Center. I have a degree in computer-aided drafting from
ITT Technical Institute. I am Certified in Activities from The Ohio
State University. I enjoy my job immensely. Its just knowing
that you come to work to make people happy, feel loved, feel needed,
and with something in the scheme of this thing they call "life".
I am the proud mother of two girls, Kimberly and Crystal. I also enjoy
singing and performing in the Versailles Towne and Country Players.
Playing cards, shopping, and going to movies are some of the other
things I enjoy in life. Last but not least are my two cats, Tigger
and Patches, who make me smile everyday.

Carolyn
Waymire (Director of Sales and Marketing)
I have been an employee at the Versailles Health Care Center for
20 years. My current position is the Director of Sales and Marketing.
I am responsible for visiting physicians and hospitals to educate
them about the services we offer. I also lead the advertising program.
I graduated from Precious Blood Preparatory High School. After high
school, I attended the University of Dayton and Edison State Community
College. I was a stay at home mother until I began my career at the
Versailles Health Care Center in 1985. I am a native of Versailles,
so Versailles Health Care Center means a great deal to me. I have
seen it grow and become one of the best facilities in Ohio.
As Director of Public Relations, it is now my job to acquaint our
community and surrounding communities with our many innovative programs.
I also speak to organizations about our facility. In addition, I visit
area hospitals and speak with discharge planners. I love to meet new
people and keep in touch with residents who have been discharged to
their home through our "Homeward Bound Rehabilitation Program."
My husband, Don, and I have been married for 39 years. We have 2 grown
children and 6grandchildren. We enjoy our 1 corvette and love to
collect antiques and decorate. Please call me at the facility if you

Chris
Poeppelman, RAI Director
Chris Poeppelman is a life-long resident of Versailles. She has
worked at the Versailles Health Care Center since 1985, during the
same year she graduated with honors from Upper Valley School of
Practical Nursing. She began her career as a Licensed Practical
Nurse as a Staff Nurse. In 1997 she became the facility's Resident
Assessment Instrument Director. She is credentialed as a certified
assessment nurse through AANAC. Chris has a true commitment to quality
and has had great influence on the care received by the residents
at the Versailles Health Care Center. She has established high standards
for herself and her team. She is a leader within the facility. She
is active in numerous professional organizations. Chris has two sons and two grandson.

Shannon Condon, Facility Rehab Director
I am new to the Versailles Health Care Center, but I was born and raised in Darke County. I graduated from Mississinawa Valley in 1999 and then went on to earn my Bachelors of Science and my Master of Arts degrees from Ball State University in Muncie Indiana. I am a Speech-Language pathologist. I chose to pursue a career in Speech Therapy following my grandfather’s stroke. His recovery was awe-inspiring and would not have been possible without caring and competent therapists.
I truly enjoy being part of a rehabilitation team. It is so rewarding to watch someone progress and heal. My focus as director is to make sure that each patient that comes to Versailles Health Care Center gets the rehabilitation they desire and achieves their maximum potential. I look forward to working with the dedicated and skilled therapists at Versailles Health Care Center.
I live in Greenville with my husband, David, our 4-month old son, Samuel, and our cat, Deano.

Jean Unger, Director of Environmental Services
My career at Versailles Health Care Center began in April 2005, starting out in the laundry and housekeeping department.
I was born and raised in Versailles. My grandparents (Jake and Phebe Shumaker) and my mother (Mary Lou Unger) were janitors in the Versailles Schools and I feel this must be my calling.
I love my job, the care I can provide for the residents and being a part of their lives.
I have three beautiful daughters, Emily, Laura, Michelle and enjoy spending time with my grandchildren. Being outdoors, taking walks, and cross-stitching are my favorite pastime.

Paula Varvel, Director of Dietary Services
Hello, my name is Paula Varvel, CDM. I have worked for Covenant Care since October 6, 2008. I’m the new kid on the block at Versailles Health Care Center. I’m impressed with what I’ve seen and there is a great team here to work with on a daily basis.
My food service background started approximately 28 years ago. I have worked in long-term care, assisted living and deli cathering. I was certified at Sinclair Community College in 1985, then re-certified in October 2007.
I’ve lived in Versailles area 10+ years. I have two children, four grandchildren and was re-married in August of this year. My husband, Dan, and I remain residents of Versailles.
