Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
offers the residents and community the skills of a dynamic
rehabilitation team. The Physical, Occupational, and
Speech Therapist strive to achieve the highest functioning
abilities for each participant in the rehab program. Residents,
outpatients, and community members are guided in their goals
with treatment planning from the skilled therapists.
State-of-the-art modalities are used to enhance the treatment
of the residents. The use of electrical stimulation, ultrasound,
short wave diathermy, and paraffin, along with other treatment
techniques like neuro-muscular stretch, joint mobilization,
and therapeutic exercises are successfully used as approaches
for contracture management, wound healing, pain control, and
weakness.
Urinary incontinence is a common problem among the geriatric
population. We offer a program, which focuses on strengthening
the bladder muscles and reducing the incidence of incontinence.
Also, we are fortunate to have a cardio-pulmonary rehab program.
The program is physician directed and provides an individualized
treatment plan. It is a multidisciplinary team and includes
diagnostic testing, education and training, therapeutic exercise,
bronchial hygiene, activities of daily living and case management.
Turlock Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is one of the
few facilities that use Nautilus equipment
specifically designed for the geriatric population. We have
a Community Wellness Program which offers three classes; two
classes meet three times a week and one class meets two times
a week to take advantage of this special equipment. Research
has shown that regular strengthening exercise helps improve
the quality of life and maintain independence.
