Every Skilled Nursing facility
(SNF) is required to operate within a
strict set of guidelines and regulations from the Bureau of Licensure
and Certification (BLC). To determine compliance, every SNF is
visited unannounced by a group of BLC personnel whose
responsibility includes methodical inspections of the facility,
or of
needed, extended investigations of activities that may demonstrate
irregularities outside of a normal SNF operation. This visit is
called a
"survey" or a State Inspection.
Depending on the severity
of deficiency findings from the "survey", a Skilled Nursing
Facility can be cited, penalized and required to comply, or to the
extent of the law, may be ordered to cease operations.
We are proud of our survey
results and you will find them posted throughout the facility. For
the years 2004 and 2005 Silver Hills achieved Deficiency Free State
Surveys.

The best way for you to determine how the
facility would care for your loved one is to make a visit. The residents
should look well cared for, the environment should be clean and
odor-free, and the atmosphere should be welcoming.
