Every Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is required to operate within a strict set of guidelines and regulations from the Department of Health (DOH). To determine compliance, every SNF is visited unannounced by a group of DOH personnel whose responsibility includes methodical inspections of the facility, or if needed, extended investigations of activities that may demonstrate irregularities outside of a normal SNF operations. This visit is called a "survey" or a State Inspection.
" Pacific Gardens voted Facility of the Year in the Western Division."
Depending on the severity of deficiency findings from the "survey", an SNF can be cited, penalized and required to comply, or to the extent of the law, maybe ordered to shut down operations. Findings are located on the internet and in well-marked public areas within the facility. The public is welcome to inspect these findings at any time.
Survey findings provide useful information to the consumer about the regulatory compliance record of a facility. Surveys are not intended as endorsements of a facility but they are a useful tool to help you understand the nature of any regulatory problems. Unfortunately, surveys do not measure quality care. The best way for you to understand how the facility will care for your loved one is to make a visit. The atmosphere should be friendly, the environment clean, residents should look well cared for and there should be no overpowering smells.
We invite you to visit us and find out yourself our difference from the others.
