In response to your recent survey; this letter is also a belated thank you for the high quality care provided while dealing with my mother, Margaret Blakeslee, who was a resident at your facility in the fall of 2009. I was very impressed with your staff and facility both- sunny and clean. The folks at PCM are truly patient advocates. My mother was well cared for and clearly benefitted from the daily physical therapy and general positive atmosphere. Today, my mother is back in her home with her cat. I highly recommend your facility to my patients as well as my mother.

This is in reference to Pacific Coast Manor Convalescent & Rehabilitation Hospital in Capitola, California. I would like to relate my experiences at the facility and impressions of the staff.

My contact with Pacific Coast Manor has been through monthly rounds as an attending physician from 1993-2006 and as a patient family member who made daily visits the last two months. Based on these observations, I have found PCM to be the best skilled nursing facility in the county of Santa Cruz. The admission personnel are extremely attentive and efficient. The nursing staff are exceptionally caring and professional. Physical, occupational and speech therapists are absolutely top notch. The dietician keeps in touch and makes helpful suggestions. The social worker makes every effort to meet patient and family needs. The activities coordinator goes the extra mile to make life more enjoyable for all residents. Even the housekeepers enter the room with a kind word and smile. In every instance, special requests were received graciously and acted upon in an expeditious manner.

To sum up, when my 99 year old grandmother required skilled nursing care and rehabilitation after recent acute care for a hip fracture, Pacific Coast Manor was my first choice. My observations and experiences the last two months have only served to increase my admiration and respect for all the cohesive, expert and loving staff.
