Every Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is required to operate within a strict set of guidelines and regulations from the Department of Health (DOH). To determine compliance, every SNF is visited unannounced by a group of DOH personnel whose responsibility includes methodical inspections of activities that may demonstrate irregularities outside of a normal SNF operations.
