Rehabilitation
Therapy Team
The
Occupational Therapy team of therapists and assistants focus on the
resident's ability to manage everyday living skills. Programs are individually
developed to maximize the level of independence in eating, dressing, toileting,
bathing, and home and community skills. Special attention is paid to the
resident's safety and to care giving training, insuring an effective transition
to home.
Our
Physical Therapy team provides an individualized program focused
on increasing range of motion, improving body strengths, endurance, transfer
skills, balance, and ambulation levels in an effort to optimize safe mobility
skills. The therapist has the equipment and modalities available to effectively
meet the full scope of the resident's needs.
The
Speech Therapist assists residents in overcoming problems with speech,
hearing, comprehension, expression and swallowing. They evaluate, plan and
conduct treatment for all speech deficits, voice problems and cognitive
impairments. Special communication systems are often established to ensure
the resident can make his or her needs know.
The
Respiratory Therapist, which is appointed to perform as Pulmonary
Rehab Therapist, focuses on the resident's work of breathing, work of heart,
lung health and association of heat/lung function (cardiopulmonary endurance)
during physical exercise or mobility/ambulation. Teaming closely with Physical
Therapy and Occupational Therapy, these methods and modalities can greatly
improve the resident's overall therapy outcomes.
