Yes, We are a Medicare/Medicaid certified facility & we welcome private
insurances & Veteran's Affair. We are also Medicaid Exceptional Care
Licensed.
Does the IL Department of
Public Health endorse this facility?
Yes, we are routinely evaluated
by the IL Department of Public Health. These visits are unannounced and
every aspect of resident care is investigated. We maintain rigorous standards
and expectations for our employees with regard to resident care.
What can I expect from nursing?
We have nurses on duty 24 hours
a day, seven days a week. Our nurses have to meet standards set by the IL
Professional Board of Regulations. Our nursing staff includes certified
nursing assistants who help residents with bathing, dressing, and meals.
We are here to assist with the family's concerns as well as the resident's
needs.
How much therapy will be
available?
All therapies require a physician's
order. In the case of an HMO, therapy must also have authorization for treatment
from the HMO's case manager or utilization manager. The amount of therapy
received by a resident is dependent on how much progress the resident makes.
Therapists need to document significant progress to keep a resident on a
caseload.
Who does the resident's laundry?
Our facility offers laundry services
at no additional charge or the family may elect to do a resident's laundry
at home.
How much clothing should
be provided for each resident?
We would like families to provide
at least seven days of clothing including 2-3 warm sweaters, slippers, and
a robe if possible. Clothing should be comfortable and easy to put on and
take off. Please use a permanent marker to put the resident's name on each
article of clothing.
What are the visiting hours?
Visiting hours are from 10 a.m.
to 8 p.m. We understand that families work and have difficulty visiting
during the daytime. We encourage visitors and ask that visitors use their
best judgment in regards to the time of the visit.
Is there a hairdresser available?
Yes, we have a hairdresser that
will see both male and female residents by appointment. Please see the front
office to find out how to make an appointment.
When does the physician visit
the resident?
Physicians are required to see
residents routinely. The nurse may contact the doctor at any time for physician
orders or other considerations such as a change in medical status.
What if the resident needs
a consultation for other services?
We can arrange for many ancillary services such as podiatry, psychiatry,
x-ray, and lab.
Who do I contact regarding
insurance and billing questions?
Our business office can help you
with most of your questions and concerns. If you have an HMO, you can also
discuss any concerns with the insurance case manager.
Who do I see if I have dietary
questions?
We have a dietary supervisor that
is available to discuss preferences and needs with the resident and/or family.
We also have a registered dietitian that monitors residents' dietary requirements,
weight gain and/or loss. In addition, our speech therapist is available
to discuss special concerns due to a resident's inability to swallow safely.
Are there transportation
arrangements?
Yes, we are able to arrange transportation
from the facility to appointments.
What types of activities
do you provide?
We provide a monthly calendar
which shows a daily schedule of activities for our residents. These activities
include (but are not limited to) the following: Arts and Crafts, Bingo,
Daily News Review, Movies, Music, Social Events, Outings, and Pet Therapy.
Do you offer religious services?
Yes, we offer religious services
from most denominations.
May I take a resident out
of the facility?
Yes, residents may leave the facility,
but please notify the nurse first. Please be aware that Medicare or Private
Insurance may not provide coverage if the resident leaves the facility.
May we bring family pets
in to visit?
Yes, pets may visit if their vaccinations
are current.
May residents bring televisions,
radios and telephones?
Yes, residents may bring televisions
and radios. Telephones may be installed in the room; however, residents
are responsible for the telephone bill. Televisions are provided for
Victory Lane.
