This fabulous wing is geared for short term rehab clients who need quality therapy and/or nursing services before crossing our finish line and returning home. The theme of this miraculous wing is racing, which has increased in popularity all over the country, with several raceways located within a 30 mile radius of Highland Health Care Center. This 19 bed rehabilitation unit was designed to entice individuals from local and surrounding counties to choose our facility, not just for it’s outstanding therapy and nursing care, but also because of it’s ambiance and the enthusiasm people feel when touring the facility.
One of the key features of Victory Lane is the Transitional Living Unit (TLU), an apartment (16x21 ft.) for a client to reside with its own microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer, kitchen sink with cabinets, kitchen table with chairs, a sitting area homelike environment in which the staff can further evaluate the client and make final recommendations and changes to the treatment plan before they are discharged.
This unit has its own entrance to the facility, its own dining room, and its own entrance to therapy, designed to attract the younger population who may be leery about rehabilitating at a nursing home. Often younger adults will go out of there way to attend a rehab center with more age-like patient’s versus receiving their treatment at the “nursing home”. Residents may choose to attend activities within the general population, or with those just on this wing.
The dining room (16x 26 ft.) is elegantly decorated with beautiful tablecloths, dazzling centerpieces, round the clock snacks and drinks, a choice of meals, and the ambiance of a stylish restaurant. The walls are creatively decorated with Highland memorabilia from past and present, including checkered victory flags, greenery arrangements, and motivational posters to keep the residents focused on their goals. One banner with multiple checkered flags hangs in “Winners Circle”, a section near the exit where the Victory Lane graduate gets their name and date on the banner before they go home.
