Every skilled nursing facility is required to operate within strict guidelines set by both State and Federal Agencies.

Friendship Home is very proud of our past surveys. Since 1998 we have had four state surveys with NO findings and one Federal survey with NO nursing care findings. No citations were again given during the 2007 annual state survey. When you tour a nursing facility, ask to see their latest annual survey. This should be readily available and shown to you with pride. Staff should always be able to explain the survey and answer any questions relating to it you may have.

Survey results are just one tool you can use to evaluate a nursing facility. A tour of the facility remains the best way to evaluate care. Ask questions and be observant during the tour. Is staff friendly and knowledgeable? Do they appear busy meeting the needs of the residents? Are the residents appropriately dressed and groomed? Does the facility have acquired pressure areas and unexplained weight loss? Are resident’s over medicated or restrained? Is money spent on outside appearance instead of resident care? At Friendship we welcome tours and are confident you will find the care we give sets a high standard which is difficult for others to meet.
