You are always welcomed at Friendship Home. No appointment is necessary. All of our staff enjoys giving a tour and telling about the exciting things we have going on. Here are a few things you may want to consider when touring a nursing facility:

• Don’t wait for a crisis. Visit several providers and compare services.
• Be realistic with your expectations.
• Is the facility clean and well maintained?
• What is the daily cost and are there any “hidden” fees (cable, laundry, feeding assistance, etc.)?
• Do the residents appear comfortable and well groomed?
• Do the residents appear to be involved in activities of interest?
• What is the facility’s policy on visiting hour?
• Is there a physician available if needed?
• Is the staff interacting with the residents in a positive and respective manner?
• Does the Administrator and Director of Nursing have an open door policy or do you have to make an appointment?

Do not hesitate to ask questions during the tour. You are making one of the most important decisions you will make for yourself or your family member. You deserve to get the answers you need to make the best possible choice.
