Whether the goal is walking your first 100 feet or driving across the country, Edgewood Manor
has a program to get you there. You determine the goal, you determine the intensity.
Our goal is to help you succeed! Our exclusive Homeward Bound program has safely and
confidently allowed many residents to return home. We rehabilitated 39 residents in 2008,
and are on pace for even more success this year!
Edgewood Manor is nestled in lovely Port Clinton, Ohio, Walleye Capital of the World and right on beautiful Lake Erie.
Kaye Lipstraw, Director of Nursing, has been a key to the successful nursing program at Edgewood for the past 31 years. This is the 6th consecutive year that Kaye and her team have been awarded the Clinical Indicator Achievement Award. This award is given to facilities who are excellent in areas of chemical restraints, physical restraints, weight loss, and in-house acquired pressure ulcers.
Chef Andy serves a resident one of his home-cooked specialties. We have developed a Fine Dining program which allows our residents to have a choice in what they would like prepared.
Edgewood recently announced the Grand Opening of our Transitional Living Suite. The suite is designed for residents ready to return home to test their activities of daily living without nursing care. The suite builds confidence in our residents and ensures their family members they are ready to return home.
One of our residents involved in one of the daily activities......LINE DANCING!!
Beautician, Carmen Kurtz, comes to Edgewood at least twice per week to make our residents look their best. Carmen offers a full range of services.
Edgewood offers Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy, 7 days per week. Many of our residents come to us as part of our Homeward Bound program, a short term rehabilitation stay, to recover from an illness or set-back. We also offer all therapy on an out-patient basis. We'll even provide lunch for you while you are here!
One of our youngest residents! Our therapy department treats a wide range of diagnosis and ages. We accept many private insurances along with being Medicare and Medicaid certified.
As one of the largest employers in Port Clinton, we treat each of our residents as an extended part of our own family. Our philosophy is that we are "Family serving families".
2009 Homeward Bound Update: 47
