Meet Our Staff
At Downey Rehabilitation Care Center we believe our staff makes the difference. They are competent and well trained. Our Quality Care is accompanied by friendly, attentive service. Residents look for it. We demand it. Consequently, our employees know more than their jobs. They understand the importance of a kind word, a gentle touch and the healing power of a smile. Their compassionate care giving skills surely enhances the daily life of our residents. Lucy Mendoza, our Business Office Manager, is available to answer any billing question you may have. Upon admission, Lucy verifies we have a copy of the resident's insurance card and any secondary insurance information has been verified. She has been instrumental in lowering our facility DSO from 70 days to fewer than 40. Lucy works hard to ensure our residents bills are submitted accurately and timely so the facility is paid quickly and correctly. The remaining Management Team and their departments: Paul Baloy, OTR/L, Facility Rehabilitation Director since 2004. Loretta Goodwin, Activity Director since 1991. Debra Grant, Social Services Coordinator since 1984. Raul Hernandez, Laundry Supervisor/Housekeeping Leader since 1999. Tally Hall, Dietary Supervisor since 2007. Brenda Martinez, LVN, Director of Staff Development since 2005. Tamara Rodil, Medical Records Director since 2008. Rosa Rivas, Admissions Coordinator since 2000. Zach Tugui, Maintenance Director since 1996.
We have many family oriented activities throughout the year such as Easter
Egg Hunt, BBQs, Raffles, Bake Sales, holiday parties, celebrations and
more. We have an employee meeting monthly where we "recognize an Employee of the Month, Apple of the Eyes, perfect attendance, and much more."
