At Downey Care Center we believe our staff
makes the difference. They are competent and well trained. Our Quality
Care is accompanied by friendly, attentive service. Residents look for
it. We demand it. Consequently, our employees know more than their jobs.
They understand the importance of a kind word, a gentle touch and the
healing power of a smile. Their compassionate care giving skills surely
enhances the daily life of our residents. We are proud to say that many
of our staff members has been working with us for many years.
Business Leadership Team:
Jen Hone, Administrator and Executive Director joined the Downey
team in June 2008, but has served in long term care as a health care administrator for over 11 years.
Many of her philosophies are shared by those of CCI. Providing the best possible
care for every resident will always be the number one priority. Providing
a positive and respectful work environment for all staff is a second philosophy.
By accomplishing these two, the facility stands a better than average
chance of being a facility of choice for both residents and staff. Being
a hands-on administrator she can be found most days in the facility but
probably not in her office.
Ofelia Rodil RN, Director of Nursing
has been serving Downey Care Center since 1999 and has worked as a DON
successfully for over 20 years. Ofelia is well respected in the DON community
for her commitment to quality care, loyal to the nursing profession, and
compassion for the elderly. She has also been recognized by CCI as DON
of the year. She leads the licensed nurses at Downey with professionalism
and accepts nothing but the best from them.
Fresy Johnson, (MSN, RN) RAI Director has been a valued CCI family member since 1998. Her area of expertise is very intensive paperwork, accuracy is a must, and the timely transmission of medical information all has to be perfectly coordinated for the facility to receive reimbursement for the services we provide.
Barbara L. Fenley, our Business Development Director, has been a marketing professional in our community and in our industry for many years. Her reputation of high integrity, professionalism, and genuine caring attitude all add up to her being the ideal person to represent Downey Care Center in our community.
Lucy Mendoza, our Business Office Manager, is available to answer any billing question you may have. Upon admission, Lucy verifies we have a copy of the resident's insurance card and any secondary insurance information has been verified. She has been instrumental in lowering our facility DSO from 70 days to fewer than 40. Lucy works hard to ensure our residents bills are submitted accurately and timely so the facility is paid quickly and correctly.

Loretta Goodwin, Activity Director since 1991.
Raul Hernandez, Housekeeping Team Leader since 1999.
Tally Hall, Dietary Supervisor since 2007.
Brenda Martinez(Licensed Vocational Nurse), Director of Staff Development since 2005.
Lucy Mendoza, Business Office Manager since 2006.
Tamara Rodil, Medical Records Director.
Alicia Santos, Laundry Supervisor since 1998.
Zach Tugui, Maintenance Director since 1996.
We have many family oriented activities throughout the year such as Easter
Egg Hunt, BBQs, Raffles, Bake Sales, holiday parties, celebrations and
more. We have an employee meting monthly where we "recognize an Employee of the Month, Apple of the Eyes, perfect attendance, and much more."
Employees are the backbone of our business and we take pride in taking
care of our employees. We believe that putting the staff first allows
for happy, satisfied workers, who gladly give the kind of care we pride
ourselves on.
