The staff at University Park Health and Rehabilitation Center is what makes our facility the great place that it is! Together, we work as a team and strive for excellence. No matter what department we work in or what individual objectives we may have, when it comes to our residents, we all work toward the same common goal - "To provide the best quality of care that your loved one deserves".
We have several staff members in all departments who have been employed with us for quite a long time. Why do they keep coming back? Because they are dedicated and love the work that they do. It's a career for them, not just another job! They realize that the decision to place a loved one in long term care isn't easy, but they truly understand the need for you to be able to trust and know that you have found the best place possible. That promise is what drives us each day as we care for our family!
Our Leadership Team Includes:
Karla Horner, RN
DON (Director of Nursing)
The Director of Nursing oversees all of the nursing personnel. She is often on the floor making rounds and helping the nursing staff. She works diligently to make sure University Park provides the best quality of care possible.
Renee Harrington, RN
Clinical Nurse Liaison
The Nurse Liaison is responsible for seeing our prospective patients in the hospital to assess them and make sure all their questions are answered during their transition from hospital to University Park.
Assistant Director of Nursing
TThe Assistant Director of Nursing helps oversee all of the nursing personnel. She is also an integral part to the care planning process for all residents.
Business Office Manager
The Business Office Manager is available by appointment to answer any insurance and/or billing questions. She maintains all financial operations for the building.
Health Information Manager
The HIM inventories and audits all medical documents that come through our building. She ensures that each resident’s privacy is protected and records are well maintained.
Admissions Coordinator/Activity Director
The Admissions Coordinator works with hospital discharge planners, family members, or responsible parties to coordinate admission of residents in our facility.
The Activity Director is in charge of the many activities that take place in the facility. There is an activity calendar posted on each Hall. She and her staff have a great relationship with residents, and keep them involved, active, and entertained.
Social Services Director
The Social Services Director assesses the emotional needs of the resident and their family, and then has the ongoing job of providing them with the emotional and social support they may need. He also facilitates in the discharge planning or long term placement of the residents
The Maintenance Director takes care of our buildings and grounds. He ensures a safe environment for residents,
visitors, and staff.
Manager of Environmental Services
The Manager of Environmental Services oversees the housekeeping staff and ensures the residents enjoy a clean building. She also facilitates moving residents into their rooms and
preparing each room for new residents.
The Dietary Manager assesses the dietary needs of each resident. She also oversees kitchen staff to provide delicious, nutritious meals.
Assistant Business Office Manager
The ABOM helps keep the business office running smoothly. She is key in communication between the residents and family and the business office.
