"I joined this facility for rehabilitation for my fractured arm and leg. I found the nursing staff to be very helpful, pleasant and friendly. They do take time to respond, but I had no problem waiting for them. The therapists are excellent, again very friendly and understanding. The staff did everything to make me feel comfortable and at home."

"My father has advanced Parkinson's, and he was recently admitted to Palo Alto Sub-Acute for rehabilitation. He has stayed at many of the other local facilities, and in my opinion, Palo Alto Sub-Acute is hands down the best facility. They have a very competent administrative staff, and the nurses and rehabilitation staff are caring and attentive. My father has been bed ridden for over a month, and Palo Alto Sub-Acute had him standing and well on his way to recovery in less than one week. Normally my father would be complaining to come home by now. This facility has him wanting to stay longer and get stronger. The facility is located on a very private residential street a few blocks from downtown Palo Alto. His room gets lots of sunshine, and it has direct access to an internal courtyard. I can't say enough about this facility. It's been a great place for his recovery."

"Wonderful staff, excellent physical therapists. All with great kindness and a sense of humor. So grateful for their brilliant care."

"My mother-in-law was sent to do some physical therapy, and I have to say the staff was excellent! We had several experiences with other rehabilitation centers with other family members and this was by far the best. I can tell my mother-in-law was in good care. The staff treated her extremely well and I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for the proper care and attention a family member deserves."

"My grandmother had recently fractured her hip so she needed somewhere to get physical therapy. I had a friend recommend this facility for her. At first my grandmother did not want to attend, as she is skeptical of "nursing homes". I reassured her that everything would be fine. As it turned out I was right! These three weeks were enjoyable for her ! This place has such a caring, honest, and friendly staff as well as professional. Any questions I had were answered when needed! They care about their patients. Physical therapy was well done! The amount of effort the staff puts into their patients makes them feel welcomed and cared for. The facility itself is clean and in addition the rooms had their own access to the patios where families and patients can spend time together when the weather is nice. Overall I highly recommend this place!"

"My 93 year old partner was an arrival here on Monday, June 22 and is being well cared for. He is getting very good PT and is showing improvement. It is walking distance from home and I visit several times per day. The staff is exceptionally nice and professional. They are taking such good care of him that I am now able to sleep at night without worry. It is not fancy but is clean and welcoming. I shall recommend it to anyone who asks about this type of care."

“I was recovering from a kidney infection, which affected my muscles and weakened body strength and resulted in a fall."

"I could not stand, walk, or rise from a seated position and found it extremely difficult to roll over or change position in bed. After several weeks in the hospital, my muscles had atrophied."

"I have been impressed by the professional approach, teamwork, and camaraderie of the OT and PT staff particularly Natalie, Jonathan Ray, Emma, Sammy and Ruby. I appreciated their consistent, gentle persuasion, and encouragement to patients to do better each day and thus gain strength. My progress towards living independently again has been phenomenal. Overcoming my fear of falling, regaining confidence and strength, learning more appropriate posture and strategies for standing and walking, repetitive exercises, maintaining my balance as for example when washing and brushing my teeth; all of these have made me ready to return home with hearty 'thank you' to the facility and its staff."

"I shall strongly recommend the Palo Alto Sub-Acute and Rehabilitation Center to my friends. It has been most successful for me.”

 - Ellen P., Past Resident

“At 98 years old, I didn't know what to expect, but I am thrilled with my progress. I now have the confidence and know that my return home will be successful."

"I broke my left ankle in a fall at home. While my foot was in the cast/boot, the therapy focused on getting my legs stronger while in the wheelchair and my exercises did strengthen my legs and my upper body and arms. After the cast was removed, the therapy included standing and walking. I can now walk with assistance of walker and have regained my mobility."

"The rehab team created a therapy plan specifically for me and executed it efficiently. They kept me and my family up-to-date on my progress. The entire team was caring, friendly, encouraging, very accommodating and extremely professional. My primary therapist, Warren, kept me working hard and was always mindful of my limitations. His positive attitude kept me positive as I worked toward regaining my strength and mobility.”

Grace needed to be fully reconditioned. She was in ICU for 2 months due to complications from successful vascular by-pass. During the surgery, she had an embolism in her lung. Grace was intubated twice and finally a tracheotomy was done.

A local hospital successfully de-cannulated Grace and recommended Palo Alto Sub-Acute & Rehabilitation Center. She needed PT and OT services since she was in bed for over three months.

Grace can now walk with a walker, put her blouse on, unbutton buttons, write, sit up in bed, and feed herself. She is much stronger in her legs, upper body, and arms.

"Our expectations and therapy goals were most definitely met. We are amazed! Truly amazed! You did a wonderful job! We told Dr. Lee what a superb PT and OT center this is and shall recommend Palo Alto Sub-Acute & Rehab to everyone."

"All the therapists are extremely knowledgeable, patient and diligent with helping each patient strive to do their best and achieve their goals."

"The licensed nurses were fabulous! My mother liked everyone here."

"The CNAs were all attentive and kind. My mother was pampered by them.”
