Working as a nurse, nursing assistant, housekeeper, or facility employee can be a rewarding job. The dedicated team at the Highland Health Care Center are what make it possible for us to establish and maintain the high standards for which we strive. Each team member, no matter what their job title is, plays an important role within the facility.
Meet Our Team:
Carla Riva LNHA,
The Executive Director oversees the entire building to ensure that everything is running smoothly. Her office door is rarely closed, and she is always willing to answer any questions or concerns.
Director of Business Development
The Director of Business Development is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with external health care providers and hospitals. She also implements a marketing plan for the facility and Homeward Bound programs. She also helps coordinate admissions into the facility.
Natalie Porter, RN DON,
Director of Nursing
The Director of Nursing oversees all of the nursing personnel. She is often on the floor making rounds and helping the nursing staff. When needed please feel free to see her with any questions about nursing services.
Assistant Director of Nursing
The Assistant Director of Nursing helps oversee all of the nursing personnel. She also coordinates the nursing staff schedule.
Martha Edmunds, Admission Services Director
The Admissions Services Director works with hospital discharge planners, family members, or responsible parties to coordinate admission of residents in our facility. She is also responsible for maintaining relationships with Assisted Living centers in the area.
The MDS Manager works with Insurance companies to keep them updated on the residents' progress through therapy and keeps the resident aware of update information. She also electronically enters information about residents for government healthcare purposes and is in charge of IDT meetings.
The Social Services Director assesses the emotional needs of the resident and their family, and has the ongoing task of providing them with the emotional and social support they may need. She also facilitates the discharge planning or long-term placement of the residents.
Andy Dichsen, MA, OTR/L, Facility Rehab Director
Andy has worked for Highland Health Care for over 7 years and truly enjoys his job. He graduated from Washington University with a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and Maryville University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. In his free time, he enjoys camping, snow skiing, and traveling with my wife and 3 children.
The Dietary Supervisor assesses the dietary needs of each resident. She also oversees kitchen staff to provide delicious, nutritious meals.
Sharon Young, Activity Director
The Activity Director is in charge of the many activities that take place in the facility. There is an activity calendar posted on G Hall, across from the dining room. She and her staff have a great relationship with residents, and keep them as involved, active, and entertained as much as possible.
, Health Information Manager
The Health Information Manager is responsible for all medical records as well as auditing all health information.
Business Office Manager
The Business Office Manager is available to answer any insurance and/or billing questions.
Office hours: Monday- Friday 8:30am-11:30am and 12:30pm-4:30pm

, Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor
Joe has been a team member at Highland Health Care Center for 7 years! He enjoys working here and helping others. In his spare time, he enjoys watching and playing sports as well as being very involved in the community.
Allan is in charge of all of the maintenance at Highland Health Care including room repairs, remodels, putting TVs up in rooms, fixing call lights and much more.
